ABOUT AVSF

The Allan Vincent Smith Foundation was registered as a Bermuda Charity on December 9 1992. Our mission statement follows that of the Terrence Higgins Trust the UK's leading AIDS Service Organization.

MISSION STATEMENT

"To support educate and advise the people of Bermuda on AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) and HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and to prevent their spread through the active distribution and dissemination of materials and information to all groups deemed to be at risk."

OBJECTIVES

To achieve our objectives we:

- Provide information and build knowledge about HIV & AIDS.
- Distribute educational and awareness materials.
- Arrange educational seminars to promote and assist with prevention of HIV & AIDS.
- Provide guidance and strength to People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA)
their partners
family members & friends.
- Work to help people affected by HIV/AIDS.

The Foundation is run by a Board of Directors who are representative of the community.

We depend on the support of businesses and the general public for financial assistance and the help of volunteers to help us achieve our objectives.
