AIDS in the Workplace
Throughout the developing world businesses are adopting policies within their Human Resources Departments that reflect the growing concern of the rights of employees with HIV/AIDS.
Designed to assist employers and employees in recognizing and understanding the issues of HIV & AIDS in the work environment, the AIDS IN THE WORKPLACE programme is achieved by presentations to Human Resources Professionals of businesses and their general staff with the view to the development of a policy on HIV/AIDS, known to all staff members, that the organization has adopted a positive and supportive attitude toward any employee who may contract HIV, or those who may be the primary care-giver of a loved one with HIV or AIDS.
The Business Case for HIV/AIDS is a toolkit developed by the Allan Vincent Smith Foundation to help businesses recognize the impact that HIV/AIDS can have in the workplace, and guide them in developing policies which are understood by all.
The toolkit is free and will soon be available for downloading from our web site.
